Description

A Cost Analyst is someone who checks, analyzes, and controls company costs to help the business save money and make better financial decisions.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze company costs, expenses, and financial data
  • Prepare cost reports, budgets, and financial forecasts
  • Monitor production or operational costs to identify savings opportunities
  • Compare actual costs vs. budgeted costs and explain variances
  • Work with accounting, finance, and operations teams
  • Assist in pricing decisions and profitability analysis
  • Maintain accurate cost databases and financial records
  • Recommend cost-control strategies to improve efficiency
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
  • Experience in cost accounting or financial analysis (1–3+ years preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting and cost control principles
  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data handling
  • Good communication skills for reporting findings
  • Ability to work under deadlines and handle large datasets
